Smoked Turkey & Pear Stacks

This is one of the simplest and quickest recipes I will ever share with you. You can literally have these prepared and served in 5 minutes. Need to impress an unexpected guest? These look elegant enough to serve at a fancy dinner party as an appetizer and taste good enough to be served at a 5 star swanky restaurant.

I came up with this recipe on a day when I needed a quick meal and a sandwich just would t do the trick. The sweetness of the pears with the smokey turkey is a perfect match. These would be great to serve as an appetizer at a party!

Ingredients
  • 2-4 ripe Bartlett pears Sliced lengthwise in 1/4 inch slices
  • 1/4 pound smoked turkey Thinly sliced
  • 1 cup baby spinach leaves Stems removed
  • 1/4 cup blue cheese Crumbled
  • Light Drizzle balsamic vinegar

Instructions
  1. Wash pears, remove stems, do not peel
  2. Using a mandolin, slice pears in ¼ inch pieces lengthwise
  3. Lay pear slices on dinner plate
  4. Fold 1 or 2 pieces of smoked turkey and put on each pear slice
  5. Top each pear stack with two spinach leaves
  6. Sprinkle crumbled blue cheese over baby spinach
  7. Drizzle balsamic vinegar over blue cheese
  8. Serve immediately

 This is so simple that we almost don’t need a “how to” for this recipe. All you do is slice the pears and stack the turkey & baby spinach on top. Add crumbled blue cheese and drizzle with balsamic vinegar.

 I think these would be great with crumbled bacon and some roasted walnuts. You really can add just about anything you have on hand to this recipe so get creative and have fun!
